Part 4 1980-2000 The Bottom Line
For as long as i remember school has always been intended to prepare us for the workforce and for better future for us and family. Its not surprising that there is a history of which school was more than just that, schools were in a way more stricter, where fear came into perspective and schooling decided to be the way to ultimately fuel prosperity. "In both cases, these reformers believed that schools should be modeled after the corporation and the marketplace. In these two periods of reform, business involvement in U.S public schools was sustained and influential in changing school goal, governance, management, organization and curriculum. But, surprisingly, business support has done little to alter dominant classroom practices"(page 174). Here we commend students to be the greater of the best to be good businessmen and work for the marketplace but in return the school gets nothing. 
In the years prior to World War 1 progressive educators wanted to better the education system by allowing teachers to involve students into what to study for upcoming projects, as in real-life situations.
